montreal tri-tip

this pic looks a little bloody for me, but the meat is yummmy. tita grace made this at our thanksgiving dinner. it was so good i had to ask how she did it. i made it for our christmas eve party at ate maribeth's house. they all wanted it a little rare so there it is, all bloody. i made 2 of them, both were gone quickly.

lean tri-tip
montreal steak seasoning
garlic powder

1. wash and dry tri-tip. pound meat to tenderize.
2. mix about 1/2 cup montreal steak seasoning and garlic powder in a bowl making a dry rub
3. coat tri-tip with rub by shaking in plastic bag
4. place tri-tip on a rack in a pan. press extra rub onto tri-tip
5. broil on both sides about 10 mins each or until coating is brown/black
5. continue to cook in oven at 350 degrees for about 20-30 minutes depending on how rare/well you like your meat

tita grace serves it with bbq sauce on the side. serve with salad and rice. so good.
