apple tasty pastry

this started as a test bake to make cinnamon rolls but i added the apples and the concept changed completely. the girls never get to eat anything pastry-like. i see them staring at the pastry glass at starbucks or any bakery we go to. so now, happy to present to them their very own apple pastry.

*you'll need a banana bread pan, approx 5" x 9"

1. heat oven to 375 degrees

2. lightly spray the bottom of the pan with a non-stick baking spray

3. peel and dice then entire apple. make a mixture of sugar and cinnamon. melt about 1/8 cup of the earth balance butter spread in the microwave.

4. unroll the crescent dough triangle on a flat surface. lightly spread the earth balance butter. generously sprinkle the sugar & cinnamon mix. pile a mound of apple pieces in the center.

5. gently roll the triangle into a loose cylinder and place inside the pan. stuff another spoonful of apples into the top. repeat this until you have all 8 rolls snug in the pan.

6. drizzle some of the melted earth balance butter in each center (if i had a baking brush i'd probably brush the dough with the butter spread too). sprinkle the sugar & cinnamon mix all over the tops.
7. bake for about 30 minutes.

taste best right out the oven. throw it in the toaster oven the next day and the edges get crunchy. yum.
